Need Help Quick
Dear Need Help Quick:
Speaking from experience, I know that life can be hard. It will throw you down and down again. You have to be strong and carry on.
There’s lots of people out there that can help. You are never alone and know that someone right now in this world is going through exactly what you are going through.
Call your local Crisis Help Line and just talk to someone - reach out because it's important that you have someone trained to help counsel you through what you're feeling, what you're experiencing and guide you to local resources for housing, mental health, social assistance, safety, legal or other supports you need to help get you on your feet.
I too have been in life altering situations exactly like this one.
Get a hold of your closest Food Bank in Edmonton, call the Salvation Army, a local church or public health office: they can also help you as well to put you in touch with resources. I have been in a situation where my power was going to be cut. I brought in my bill to social assistance and they helped me right away.
Just keep calling around asking organizations for advice - but don't give up. And don't compromise your values or put yourself in harm's way for money. It's not worth the risk.
